Poor performance, personal conflicts, and loss of self-control.

The informing science framework and social network sites (SNSS)
SNSs widely used, yet studies on habit and addiction remain limited.
Information shared between senders and receivers through SNSs.
SNS use associated with connection, pressure, and addiction.
DISCUSSION
Findings contradict the common belief about the harmful effects of SNS.
Younger generations may not perceive heavy SNS use as negative.
SNS reflects changes in communication and social interaction patterns.
RESULTS
H3: Greater social influence will positively relate so SNS addiction.
H4: Increased satisfaction with the SNS will positively relate to SNS addiction.
H2: Higher distraction will positively relate to SNS addiction.
H1: Diminished impulse control will positively relate to SNS addiction.
H5: SNS addiction will negatively relate to satisfaction with life.
METHOD
Survey of 413 university students in the United States.
Research model includes four factors
Distraction
Diminished impulse control
Social influence
Satisfaction with SNS
Data analyzed using the PLS method.
CONCLUSION
The concept of “technology addiction” should be reconsidered.
Heavy technology use is a paradigm shift in human interaction, not a clinical disorder.
From an Information Systems perspective, the "delivery system" (SNS) is working effectively to connect people.
