1:10 000 Orthophoto
An orthophoto is an aerial photograph that has been corrected to show true distances.
It combines a photograph with map information.
Scale 1 : 10 000 means:
1 cm on the map = 10 000 cm on the ground
1 cm = 100 m
Features of an orthophoto:
Shows real ground features as they look from above.
Includes contour lines to show height.
Roads, rivers, buildings, vegetation and railways can be identified.
More detail than a topographical map because it is based on an aerial photo.
