LESSON 3:
WORKSPACE BROWSERS:

a way to move files, audition files, create catalogs or lists of files etc
- SOUND LIBRARIES: search for sounds using descriptive labels/ tags
- VOLUMES: gives you access to standard drives; local and network storage drives
- SESSION/ PROJECT: shows whatever is displayed in the project itself; media within the session/project regardless are where they are physically located
- TRACK PRESETS: you can navigate track presets and apply it from there; searchable by name
- CATALOGS: frequently used sounds found in one place; virtual folder; a way of organising a sound without using up extra hard drive space
- USER FOLDER: commonly used locations in the users directory (documents, desktops etc)
USING WORKSPACE BROWSERS
- SIMPLE SEARCH: an easy way to search things by name
- ADVANCED SEARCH: a more refined and detailed search

COMMENTS FIELD: file comments are stored with the metadata of the file; it will go with the file not the session

TASK MANAGER:

STATUS = action being taken: copying, processing, indexing

PAUSED TASK PANE = everything that is paused; tasks in this section will not be processed until moved to the active pane

STATUS INDICATORS:

DELAY COMPENSATION INDICATOR: only displayed when delay compensation is enabled; depends on the state of delay compensation in the session ; if the delay compensation is exceeded then the indicator will turn RED

INDEXING VOLUMES:

INDEXING WHILE BROWSING: when a browser window is opened, PT automatically starts to index the displayed items
MANUAL INDEXING: fills in missing data and updates changed data for selected folders and their subfolders
