Lab 2: Canva How to/ Get to Know You
Steps to set up a free Canva account and Screen Shots to use for instructions
It is free with student email. (You will not have Pro access.)
go to:
https://www.canva.com/
You need a student email
Click Sign Up
(top right)
Click Google Account (If you have a school gmail)
I you don't have a school gmail account, contact Tech Department.
If you are not automatically signed in click the create account link:
Don't sign up for a free trial. Click the x (top right)
Create a new design by selecting the + sign (top left)
For this project select Flyer (US Portrait) 8.5inchx11inch
You will see a search bar that says "Search for Real Estate Flyer Templates" Type: "Get to Know me" in the search bar.

Create your Flyer:
Now you can create a design
Choose a template on Canva (Make sure it doesn't have a crown next to it. You can use a free template for this project.

How to edit template:
Make sure there is no red border, that means you are outside of the design field.
Click and drag the screen to highlight all elements and select group
Then you can use the circle on the top left corner to resize the design. this will change the size of all the elements at once. Then reposition to be in the center of the page.
Now double click the page and you can ungroup your elements. This is so you can edit each element on its own.
You can edit the picture/ the text by clicking on what you want to change.

You can change any of the elements by deleting it and selecting a new element from the elements tab on the left.

anging the color in the circle on the top edit
Think about what should go on your About Me Flyer
Elements you must include:
A picture of yourself
Your name
An Introduction with at least 5 fun facts
Birthday/ Astrological Sign
Do you have siblings
Favorite Color
Dunkin' or Starbucks/ What's your drink order?
If you could have any job what would it be?
Last meal
Favorite Book/ Movie
Favorite season
Notes/ To Do List for me:
Edit all screenshot in Canva to have the same boarder and arrows pointing to the exact space for students to click.
Create an example of a Get to Know Me Poster so students can guide their own work.
Possibly make a screen recording with a QR code for students to watch?
