I think long term I’m still exploring, but right now I really want to build a strong foundation in consulting.
-
Longer term, I’m interested in more product or customer-focused roles, but still using that strategic problem-solving skillset.
I see consulting as the best place to build a strong problem-solving foundation, and over time I’d like to move into roles that combine strategy with product or customer experience.
Why? Before after
In my previous role, I built a strong foundation in execution and working across teams, but the scope was relatively focused within the same domain.
What excites me about consulting is the opportunity to apply those transferable skills to different types of problems across industries and companies.
-
I did think about going directly into product, but I realized I want to strengthen my structured problem-solving and strategic thinking first.
In my previous role, I was more focused on execution, and I want to get better at defining problems and thinking at a higher level.
I see consulting as a great way to build that foundation, which I think will make me a stronger product manager in the long run.
