-lifestyle modification
1. smoking cessation
2. weight loss
-diet modification
1. small, frequent meals
2. Avoid high-fat, spicy, and acidic food, caffeine, and chocolate
-head of bed above 30
-avoid heavy lifting or strainning
-wear nonrestrictive clothing
-if symptoms are significant pr perisistant we need to do a surgery
intervention postoperative
-early ambulation
-deep breathing and effective coughing
-teach splinting techniques
-follow orders for diet resumption
1. clear liquids to full liquids to solids
2. usally advanced as tolerated
-adminster prescribed medications
1. pain medications
2.antiemetic medications
3. stool softerner and laxatives
