Abdominal ultrasound to confirm diagnosis
-prepare for cholecystectomy (laparoscopic vs. open cholecystectomy)
1. pain management: ASAIDS, opioids
2. IV fluids and electrolytes
3. iv antiemetics
4. iv antibiotics
5.keep the client NPO to rest the gallbladder
-postoperative
1. ambulation and hydration
2. low fat diet initially leads to regular diet after a few week
inflammation of the gallbladder
-ctstuc dut is obstruceted by a gallstone
-bile cannot be excreted
-bile dsitends and inflames the gallbladder
-can perforate gallbladder
