Redbull
Target Audience
My age range will be a young adult audience (18 - 25). This is because the product is not suitable for under 18 because of its high caffeine content. I should make it clear on the packaging that this is not suitable for people under 18. This could be misleading ethically to influence people under 18 to drink Red Bull as its high sugar content can lead to diabetes if teens get addicted to the drink from its effective energy boost. Also Red Bull very involved in youth culture from focusing on promoting on Instagram and various other social media apps. This shows how they want to connect more to a younger audience as they focus on marketing through extreme sports, music etc to gain engagement. I will aim my packaging to a male target audience as sports are very dominated and associated to a masculine audience as 60% are men. This shows that the energy drinks sponsorships with sports like F1 etc. will reach this male target audience. Also men sports have more viewership so it would be more suitable to target my product to this gender as the 2023 Super Bowl had over 115 million viewers while the 2023 FIFA Women’s Industry Cup final reached 9 million.
For the Red Bull original the target audience I would want to target my packaging to is people that are athletic and thrill seeking people as Red Bull sponsors high risk sports this type of promotion resonates with their audience. This thrill seeking attitude could link my comic style idea as superheroes do dangerous things to save people.
Another angle I can look at is another version of Red Bull that the company has made which is their sugar free option. The type of target audience this would reach is someone more health conscious that still wants an energy boost but with the risk of health concerns because of its high sugar and caffeine content. Also someone that cares about fitness and their own wellness.

This is a very good example as I want to do something that is similar to this and make it more comic like however it does match the DC superhero theme that this collaboration shows. What I think is good about this packaging is that the superheroes match the brands tag line ' Red Bull gives you wings' which gives a clear correlation to the packaging and the companies image.
What I like about this collaboration with Tetris and the design of the packaging is that is is very minimal but it is effective. This is because the Tetris pieces are very recognizable and making them match the color scheme of Red Bull and using other colors is a good technique as they stand out on the packaging.
What I about this collaboration is the composition of the pac man maze. This I could take inspiration from as the silver and blue square are very recognizable to the Red Bull brand so I could follow this style into my own work so that it still links to Red Bull.
What I think about this packaging is that the images match and blend in with the blue can. This could be a good idea to try out and experiment making one in color and another following the brands color scheme to see what works best.
