Chapter 7
Defining the Process
A process is a collection of specific tasks, steps, or activities that must be performed in a certain order to produce a final result, like a product or a service.
Big businesses are actually one giant process made up of thousands of tiny ones, raging from complex manufacturing down to simple tasks like answering a phone
Understanding the "Scope" is vital it allows a team to see exactly where a process starts and where it officially ends

Major Process Components
Inputs are the ingredients or information required to start the work, such as the dough and sauce needed to make a pizza
Events act as triggers or specific signals, like a customer placing an order, that tell the process it is time to begin
Tasks and activities are the heart of the process where physical or automated actions turn the inputs into something useful
Decisions are the choices made during the work, which are usually governed by a set of rules to make sure the results stay consistent
