When it comes to dealing with and procecuting stalking, the accounts given by the victim are paramount to the sentencing

Multi-agency approach can cause difficulites surroudning the time frame of dealing with the crime. the longer the process goes on the longer the victim may feel unsafe
People who are accused of stalking can be held in custody depending on the level of risk posed to the victim and the severity of the claim : higher emphasis on protecting the victim
because the investigations can take time, the police can apply for a stalking protection order (SPO)

crime control prevention model : due to the nature of stalking, fast action is needed (SPOs put in place) , focus on protection and safety of the victim, however may violate rights of the accused with fast tracked investigations that can lead to insufficent evidence.
Process model : gathering of vigorous evudence, reudced risk of wrongful conviction, however, it can be slow and the perpretrator can continue thier stalking activites while the trail is being waited for
