GENERAL INFO
- 9% chance of survival
- only 33% return to unaided breathing
- every minute without defibrillation chance of survival reduces by 10%
- 12 per week under 35 years die of undiagnosed heart disease
- sudden cardiac arrest = death from cardiac problem <12 hours from normal health

- post resuscitation care = hospitalisation
CARDIAC ARREST
can be caused by
- abnormal heart rhythm = arrhythmia
- electrocution
- trauma
- drug overdose
- poisoning
- bleeding
- drowning

Compressions
