Performing hand hygiene before applying and after removing sterile gloves
opening the serile guaze alway form the body
remove clean gloves after removing the existing dreassing turning glove insde out
disposing the dressing in the biohazard box
avoid chlorhexidine gluconate
apply clean glove for removing the old dreassing
pally sterile glove for applying a sterile dressing
Wound Irrigation
1. Assess the wound, pain
2. analgesics before 30 minutes
3. position wound to allow flow of solution
4.open sterile supplies
5. slecet a 35-ml syringe with a large bore
6. 18-to 19 gauge angiocatheter
7.hold the tip of the syrong i inch above the wound
8. flush until the solution is free from debris and exudate from top to bot
9. dry the surrounding skin with sterilke gauze
10. apply dressing
Preparation of Sterile Field
preparing
-gather all supplies prior to produre
-clear area
-close door
-check sterile packaging integrity and expriation date
-position client
-select work sueface above waist level
doning sterile gloves
-hand washing
-gloving dominant first
-keep hands up , touch only sterile surfaces
opening
-open the outer layer away from the body
-then the sides
-drop the sterile ittem if adding
