Only a small amount of urine is required, 30-60ml

1. Hand washing
2. retract the foreskin
3. Clean the urinary meatus
4. initiate the urerine stream
5. Pass the container into the urine stream
6. Remove the specimen container before urine flow ends
7. Replace the sterile cap

2. Open with the non-dominant hand
3. Clean the vulva in a front-to-back motion
4. initiate the urine stream
5. Pass the container into the urein stream
6. Remove the specimen container before urine flow ends
