Types
hypotonic
decrease electrolytes more than water( malason runner ) osmolality low, low sodium
isotonic:
decrease of both electrolytes and water, primary from kids
hypertonic
decrease water more than electrolytes (patient with diuretic) osmolality will be high, high sodium
nursing intervention

Monitor intake and output, lab electrolyte values
check capillary refil, fontanelles in an infant, daily weight
