My ideas
Possible solutions for problem
Sport headbands with new features with black kites logo for school mascot and team spirit (Incremental)
Pros: good for messy hair and prevents them from getting in your face, keeps head insulated, absorbs sweat, prevents overheating because of empty top part.
Cons: non-adjustable headbands may not fit everyone, or maybe be too tight causing migraines
A hat with new features with black kites logo (Incremental)
Pros: good for style and sunny weathers.
Cons: may be too simple and common as the school already have hats with house logos
A beanie with school colors (Incremental)
Pros: good for cold weather sports.
Cons: may cause overheating or itchy skin because of materials and full coverage of head
Sport headbands made specifically for females-- there is a hole at the back for ponytail (Incremental)
Pros: tailored for females especially for hair, putting the hair through the hole can help with the problem of not having a hair tie
Cons: target market will be significantly smaller because of only targeting one gender
What is the problem?
Athletes encounter many different problems in many different sports. One that is universal in all-- the hair gets in the way
Sustainability
What Materials?
Recycled polyester: durable, strong upcycled,
flexible, perfect for clothings
Linen: drought resistant, biodegradable, durable
Organic cotton: grown without synthetic fertilizers
Wool: biodegradable, renewable, durable
How to minimize waste?
Don't product in batch when design is not tested or finalized yet
Use smaller amount of materials for testing and prototypes
When a piece of fabric has an error,
don't throw it away, recycle or upcycle it
