Prospero celebrates the engagement of Ferdinand and Miranda
By presenting a magical masque performed by spirits
The masque symbolises harmony
However, Prospero suddenly remembers Caliban’s plot
angrily interrupts the performance
Showing that even moments of joy are fragile
Prospero confronts Caliban, Stephano, and Trinculo
Using magic and spirits, he confuses and punishes them without violence

Prospero decides to renounce his magic
Choosing forgiveness over revenge
He reveals himself to Alonso and the other nobles
Forgives their betrayals, and restores social order
Alonso is reunited with Ferdinand :checkered_flag:
And he gives his approvations to Ferdinand and Miranda’s marriage
