diversity
- we speak different languages
due to all this reasons india is said to be a diverse country, but if you look at very core all the things we do is same speak, eat, pray celebrate but we do it in different ways
- we follow different religions
- we celebrate different kind of festivals
- we eat different kind of things
- what caused diversity in india
to know about diversity we need to move back 200 years where people used to travel on horses, camels or on foot or on ships from one part of the world to another part of the world

- since the means of travel is not really easy on those days, when they find a place they used to settle there and make this new place theri home
even if they settle in new places they tried to do things in old ways so their language, cultutre, religion, music and traditions become mix of old and new

inequality
if one person has resources and oppurtunites and aonother person dont have them then we can say there exists inequality
- caste system is bect example of inequality in india
placing us in certain group and telling us to remain oly in that group and do only tha occupation created alot of inequality in olden days
because caste system in something irreversible and in those days people are not allowed to change theri preffession

ladakh
climate in ladakh
- ladakh is a desert in jammu and kashmir which is covered with snow
- here agriculture is not possible and only few kind of plants are grown here
livelihood
- each family domesticate sheeps and goats and dzos(yak-cows)
- goats in kashmir will give pashmina wool
- people here consume meat and milk products like chese and butter
trading
- this pashmina wool is sold to kashmir thats how people here make money
- through this pashmina wool we make pashmina shawls

- ladakh usually has very good trading because through ladakh caravan used to travel to tibet
this caravans are people who travvedl all over the wolrd for global trading(means to buy/ sell stuff around the world)
concept of caravans:
caravans are people who used to travel in large group in olden days from one place to anpther to support global trading
they used to travel in large groups because in olden days wild animals used to be very unpredictable and also in large number so to protect themselves from this wild animals people used to travel in groups
this caravans mainly carried textiles, spices, carpets and raw silk
- ladakh is also known as mini tibet because budhism reached to tibet via ladakh and due to its strong cultutral singnificance with tibet(as they are neighbours means in ladakh also we can see little tibet culture)
- islam is introduced to this region 400 years ago and here most of the population are muslims
- oral traditions like songs and poems are very rich in ladakh
