Enclosure
subdivision and fencing of common land, privatised and allocated to those considered to have a legal claim- factor that led to 1381 peasants revolt
took place from 13th Centuary onwards, today half country is owned by 40,000 land milionares or 0.06% of population
meant the subdivision and fencing of common land into individual plots that were allocated to those deemed to have rights to the enclosed land
is debated historically as some argue it was necessary for economic development and others believe it deprived the poor of their livelihoods and led to rural depopulation

Sumptuary laws restricted the colours that Tudor men and women could wear. For example, Henry VIII and the rest of the royal family were the only ones who were permitted to wear purple. However, Henry's key colours we see represented in his portraits are red, gold, and black.
