Superclass: Myxinomorphi - hagfish, THE ONLY NON VERTEBRATE OF THE SUPERCLASSES, originated from Carboniferous period, still alive, has one class called Myxini where there are 70 species, lives in temperate (no extreme temperatures) conditions, lives below 330m in ocean, seawater only as it's isosmotic (has the same osmotic pressure), lacks vertebrae, no true eyes, burrow, hypoxia tolerant, predates benthic invertebrates and scavenges by latching onto carcasses, has 70-200 pairs of slime glands, it produces carbohydrates that when exposed to water turn into slime, it is used to escape predators and ties itself into a knot to get rid of any mucous/slime stuck to it or to feed off carcasses, eel-like, no scales, no jaws, no stomach, tongue has keratinous replaceable teeth, produce pathogen specific substances, have continuous caudal fins, terminal mouth, repeat spawning, direct development from egg, photoreceptors in head and cloacal region, 1-16 gill openings, bite and tear to eat
