The fathers are both taken with jewels of grandeur and the stuff of fairytales. The girls have lived their lives ruthlessly under a life of mattieral value and being treated much the same by their respective father.

The differences are fundamental and each girl has been brought up her whole life to work with the material and only know it.
They, however can tell it is a poison to their fathers and attempts to find other means of existing, not coveting gold or antiques or anything for that matter. Instead they seek to take in the stars and grass and trees.
