      - Sensitization : Animal learn to increased respons over following painful of harmful experience (PTSD)

    - - Adaptations help organisms survive different habitats by proving them with traits that can help them find food, shelter, protect themselves and eventually reproduce in their spesific surrounding
      - These adaptations can be:
        
        physical (like a polar bear's thick fur),
        
        behavioral (like a desert animal being nocturnal), or
        
        physiogical (like a snake producing venom)
- - - - This system involves an individual of one sex mating with multiple partners of the other sex
    - - Harem System: A dominant male controls a group of females, gaining exclusive access to them while the females benefit from a stable social group
        
        Kleptogyny: A "sneaky mating" strategy where a subordinate male mates with females while the dominant male is distracted
        
        Lek System: Males gather in a communal courting area to perform elaborate displays (e.g., sage grouse), and females visit solely to choose a mate based on these displays rather than for resources
    - - getting food gifts from males, ensuring offspring viability through sperm competition, and reducing the risk of infanticide because males cannot distinguish their own progeny. In these systems, males often raise the offspring without female help
        Polyandry increases genetic variability → gives healthier, more adaptable, and higher-survival offspring, and reduces risks from bad genes or bad sperm.
    - - Paternity Uncertainty: Because females mate with multiple males, paternity is never certain. This uncertainty is an evolutionary advantage as it selects for males to avoid infanticide, lest they kill their own offspring
    - - True (Sexual) Monogamy: Partners mate only with each other. This is exceedingly rare
        
        Social Monogamy: Much more common. Partners pair up to rear offspring together but may engage in "extra-pair copulations" (infidelity) with other individuals
