EVEREST GEOGRAPHY, UNIVERSE, universe(part2) - Coggle Diagram
-
- big bang theory says about origing and expansion/evolution of universe and also known as expanding universe hypothesis
- it say initially there is a single atom which is very small but with infinite pressure and infinite temperature
- due to his heavy pressure and heat exactly 13.8 billion years ago this atom exploded
- and timely all this exploded matter starting cooling and started forming as universe
- this big bang theory is proposed by georges lemaitre in 1920
- and in that 1920 only edwin hubble provided evidence that universe is expanding
- we have studied explosion happedned, and large amount of matter and energy released its cooled and formed universe
in order to talk about stars formation, we first need to talk about formation of galaxy
- initially in universe this distribution of matter and energy is very uneven and their densities are also different
- due to density differences all this mtter with influence of energy clustured and formed galaxy
- usually this galaxy contain large number of stars
- a galaxy is very vast and it is measured in light years
-
- it is proposed by ptolemy
- it says earth is in the middle of the universe and all other baodies like sun, moon, other planests are revolving around earth in circular path
- it is proposed by nicolaus copernicus
- heleocentirc theory says that sun is in the middle of the universe and all other objects revolve around it
solar system consists of stars(sun as a major star), 8 planets, 63 moons and various millions of small bodies like asteroids, comets, dust
star
sun:
- sun is the central star of solar system
- and aslo known as father of solar system
- there are total 8 planets
- mercury is the smallest planet as well as the nearest planet to sun
venus:
- venus is known as the earths twin due to its similar shape and siize to earth
- venus is known as hottest planet of sloar system because its atmosphere contains 90-95% of carbondioxide and aslo contains clouds of sulphuric acid both makes planet hottest
- jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system
- atmosphere of jupiter contains hydrogen, helium, methane and ammonia
- moons of jupiter are ganymede and europa
-
-
- usually what we know is all this planets rotates around sun in an axis
- the axix of venus and uranus is so great/ diff from other planets
- this the reason venus and uranus rotates opposite to the rotation of other planets
- earth and all other planets rotates around sun in anti clockwise direction
- but this venus and uranus rotates in clockwise direction around sun
division of planets
-
- outer planets or jovian planets
last 4 planets jupiter, saturn, uranus and neptune falls here
- earth is the 5th largest planet in the solar system and thirs nearest to sun
- the earth is formed 4,500 million years ago but how its is formed exactly is unknown
- earth is known as blue planet
-
-
- moon is the only natural sattellite of earth
-
- to complete one revolution around earth it takes 28 days for moon
- it takes same 28 days for moon to complete one roration around itself
- terminologies in solar system
- asteroids are nothing but small rocky bodies that revolve around sun just like planets and other objects in solar system
-
-
- usually asteoroids are present all over the solar system but, most of the asteroids are present in asteoroid belt
-
- comets are made of ice and just and they too orbit around sun(just like asteo )
- this comets are originated in kuiper belt
-
-
- meteoroids can come from both asteroids as well as comets
- sometimes this asteroids are smashed and break off into various small rock pieces
-
-
- this meteoroids sometimes enters into earths surface
- when they enter into eart(may be due to temp/ pressure diff or sudden atmospheriec change b/w solar system and earth) they vapourizes in earths atmosphere
and when they are vapourizing they turn into a streak of light and this streak of light is kown as meteor
- as this meteors they appear as a streak of light in sky they are also called as shooting star
-
-
- meteoroids sometimes enters into earths surface and skip that vaporization phenomena
-
-
-
-
- when neutral particles of earth interact with charged particles from sun gives raise to auroras
4.aurora borealis: is this aurora happen at northern hemisphere/ at north pole it is known as aurora borealis
- aurora australis: if this aurora heppens at suthern hemisphere/ southern pole it is known as aurora australis
-
- earth is 149 million km away from the sun(not exaclt on average)
- shape of the earth is geoid
- means flat at ends and bulg in middle (means at poles it is flat but at equator it is bulg)
3.land water ratio
-
northern hemisphere
2:3 in 5%
means in 5%, 2% island and 3a5 is water
-
-
- the moment of earth around its axis is called rotation
- and this rotation is maximum at equator and decreases towards poles
-
-
5.earths zone:
- earth is present at goldilocks zone
-
- instead temp are moderate and supports livelihood
- in this goldilocks zone water exits in liguid state
-
-
-
- earth is also known as densest planet in solar system due to its heavy metal compositions
universe(part2)
1.latitudes:
- latitudes are horizontal imaginary lines runs from west to east
- equator: is a standar latitude that divides globe into 2 equal halfs northen and southern hemisphere
-
all the latitudes that are present in northern and southern hemisphere that are parallel to equator are known as parallels of latitudes
-
- there are total 181 latitudes
-
-
181
90 on n.h, 90 on s.h and 1 equator
- motion of earth around its own axis from west to east is known as rotation
- earth/ solar day: it takes 24 hours for earth to complete one rotation and this 24 hrs are called earth / solar day
- this speed of rotation is max at equator and decreases towrds poles
- cycle of days and nights happens due to rotation of earth
- change of seaons/ cycle of seasons happens due to rotation of earth
- the robit or axis of this earths rotation is inclined 23.5 deg with orbital plane
it is said due to its inclination and rotation based on this inclined axis no. of days or nights different seasons are expereinced on earth
-
- earth revolves around sun in eliptical orbit
- it exactly takes 365 days 6 hours for earth to complete one revolution
-
-
special phenomenon
- earth is closest to the sun on 3rd january(147 million km)
-
- earth is farthest to sun on 4th july (153 million km)
-
longitudes
- longitudes are also imaginary lines drawn from north to south pole
- distance b/t longitudes decreases towards poles and all longitudes meet at poles
-
- 0 deg longitude also known as prime meridain runs through greewich of london uk
- 0 deg longitude is choosen as standard meridian
- whereas 180 deg longi (which is anti meridian of this prime meridian ) is choosen as international date line
-
-
- the longi 82 1/2 deg east passes through india
-
- known as INDIAN STANDARD TIME
- the local time at diff meridians are different
- eclipse is a rare astronomical phenomenon that happens when a spatial body comes within the shadow of another spatial body
types
- in solar eclipse moon is in b/w sun and earth
-
- sun light falls on moon , then moon produces certain shadow
-
- its is said when moon pases in front of earth solar eclipse hapens
2.lunar eclipse
-
- sun light falls on earth and earth produces certain shadow
-
- it is said when moon passes through earths shadow lunar eclipse occurs
-
- its average height is 13 km
-
-
importance
- in troposphere only all the climatic and weather changes takes placw
-
-
4.tropopause
-
- this tropopause is a zone that seperates troposphere and startosphere
-
-
- here air blows horizontally and is ideal for flying air crafts
- at lower part of stratosphere we can experience polar jet streams and sub tropical jet streams
-
- as we go above in this stratopshere the temp increases
-
-
- usually this layer is very cold in nature and there are no presence of green house gases
-
- as much as we keep going up the temp keep on decreasing in this layer
- the meteor phenomena takes place here
- the upper most portion of this mesosphere is known as mesopause
4.ionosphere
-
-
- in ionosphere we can see electrically charged particles which are responsible for auroras
-
- the radioactive waves transmitted by earth are reflected by this layer only
- in ionosphere the temp keep on increasing as we go upwards
- outermost layer of atmosphere
- at this layer gases are very very less present(but not zero/ not no gas zone)
- usually low dense gases like hydrogen and helium enters into this exophere
- and in this exophere there is no required gravitational pull to hold this gases
- as a result from this layer they escape into space
