Pollination
Definition: The transfer of pollen from the male part of a flower to the female part, enabling fertilisation and the creation of seeds.
-
-
Self-pollination: A plant can be fertilized by its own pollen from the same flower or another flower on the same plant.
Cross-pollination: Pollen is transferred from a flower on one plant to a flower on a different plant of the same species.
Photosynthesis
-
Definition: The vital process used by plants, algae, and some bacteria to convert light energy (usually from the sun) into chemical energy, creating their own food (glucose/sugars) from carbon dioxide and water, releasing oxygen as a byproduct, and occurring mainly in chloroplasts using chlorophyll.
Location: Photosynthesis is carried out by the chlorophyll in chloroplasts, mostly in the palisade mesophyll in plants' leaves.

eukaryotic
:
Vacuole - a membrane-bound sac within a cell, acting as a storage, waste disposal, and internal transport system
Chloroplast - a specialised organelle in plant and algal cells that performs photosynthesis, converting light energy into chemical energy (sugars)
Ribosome - essential cellular machines made of RNA and protein that build proteins by reading messenger RNA (mRNA) and linking amino acids together
Cell wall-located outside the cell membrane, providing structural support, protection, and a fixed shape to the cell, primarily composed of cellulose in plants
Cell membrane- protective barrier surrounding a cell, which acts like a gatekeeper
nucleus-a central organelle that contains the cell's genetic material (DNA) and controls cell activities, growth, and reproduction
Transpiration
Along the minerals, water is absorbed into the roots by osmosis
