Definition of Delirium
Acute, transient, and usually reversible change or fluctuation in baseline mental status.

Leads to inability to receive, process, store, or recall information.

Types
Hypoactive Delirium

Has subtle symptoms, making it harder to detect.

Usually associated with: flat affect , withdrawal , Apathy, lethargy , Decreased responsiveness , calm appearance

Hyperactive Delirium

Characterized by Agitation , Restlessness , attempt to remove catheters or lines
