Pandoras Box (1929) by director G.W. Pabst, stars Louise Brooks as Lulu, a free spirited and attractive young woman who embodies shameless sexuality; like Marlene Dietrich in the film 'The Blue Angel' Brooks character uses her charm and beauty to make her way through life as a performer, relying on the handoffs of the wealthy men who sleep with her. She was unabashedly promiscuous, flirtatious, and fearless. Her character is depicted as a temptress, feuled by selfish intentions, however, she is consistently told what to do by the men in her life and then gets blamed by the same men when things backfire. Her faith in mens affection eventually leading to her murder at the end of the film.
