Leader of the movement against British rule in India
Non violent protest and inspired MLK and Nelson Mandela in South Africa
Born in 1869 in India went to London to study Law and worked as a lawyer 20 years in South Africa
Saw discrimantions and worked for civil rights
1914 he beacme a political activist organising NON Violent protests and was called BAPU (means father)
Salt March in 1930 was created against British that put a tax on salt so Gandhi walked for KM to make his own salt
1947 creation of India and Pakistan , splitting India was unpopular and led to protests Gandhi didn't agree but a Hindi nationalist assassinated him january 30th 1948
