Purpose of this policy
Realign IT departments projects with the rest of the businesses needs
Prioritize systems that need upgrading or modification (Onboarding/Orientation Systems)
Create more efficient spending and allocation of resources; determine which projects should be handled first
What the Policy States
The IT Department is to prioritize and complete projects that fit the businesses needs FIRST. Prioritization of projects is based on several standardized factors

Cascade Business Partners are to go through the standardized procedure of reporting and documenting project ideas and sending it through the system to get processed by IT
Clear description of project
Business Impact Explanation
COMPLETE project request documentation is required. Missing details will be sent back for revision
IT is to document prioritization and project steps to ensure that the project is being handled professionally and appropriately based on its prioritization level
Prioritization Notes: Why a project received a certain priority level
Status Updates: Update the ticket status based on progress. Ensures that a project is being worked on or acknowledged
This will also help if IT partners get moved around to establish where a project is at and what needs to be done next.
IT should keep track of the project timeline to make future improvements to their IT processes
Who the Policy Applies To
Cascade Business Partners/HR
Cascade partners who are looking to request IT projects will have to go through this process.
HR and partners responsible for on boarding will also have to go through this process for requesting IT projects. New prioritization system will be done by IT to ensure their project is handled appropriately
Cascade IT department
IT partners and managers are required to follow prioritization processes that align with the rest of the businesses needs.
IT partners are responsible for completing these requests in a timely manner. High priority projects should not be left with no progress for months on end.
Executives and Upper Management
Department leads and upper level executive will have to go through this process as well. They will have higher priority over standard business partners
How will this policy be implemented
Introduction: Establish new prioritization/IT PM system
Instruct/Teach the IT department on the prioritization process to ensure the right projects are being tackled first.
Train non IT partners on the new process of project requests. Prioritization will be determined by IT Directors/Managers
Pilot Group
Test the prioritization/project process with a single business sector to measure success on a small scale. Gather feedback from the IT and business employees involved.
If this process was not successful, make small tweaks to process to correct weaknesses
Full Business Rollout
Rollout the new project request system to the rest of the business. Gather feedback from the rest of the business via surveys.
Continue to tweak and make adjustments to improve process

Ensures that all IT partners are following standardized procedures for project prioritization
Upper Level Executives
Ensures that IT department leads are held accountable for managing projects
How the organization will measure the success of the policy
Success Metrics that measure project timeline, time for completion, and projects completed
Partner satisfaction surveys that measures how happy IT and business partners are with the new process.
