partial improvement + decreased yeast --> suspected misdiagnosis/ extend treatment/ review compliance
no improvements + yeast --> review compliance, change treatment, resistance

dogs: modified Dixon's agar at 32-37 degrees C for =/> 3d
cats: modified Dixon's agar at 32-34 degrees C for =/> 7d
Topical therapy in dogs
2% miconazole- 2% chlorhexidine first choice
3% chorlhexidine
