Throughout this whole unit, I think the best thing I learned would have to be all the different layers or rocks, and learning which ones came first, and how one builds on top of another. We were able to learn this by the reading rocks activity we did, and the convection lab we also did. This matters a lot because without it, we wouldn’t have a really solid ground to walk on every day, and we also wouldn’t have all of the cool sights we have on Earth. For example, the Grand Canyon would be nonexistent because the Grand Canyon is made up of so many rock layers. So these rock layers are more important than you would think. At the beginning of this unit, I knew a little about rocks like sedimentary rocks, igneous rocks, and metamorphic rocks, but now I have a better understanding of them. I know how they form and how they can turn into each other. I have grown so much as a learner. I have learned to take better notes, ask for more help, take my time, and make sure I really understand the lesson of the day.
