Summary
Introduction
Roger, a young boy wearing old shoes, tries to steal from Mrs. Jones.
Buildup
This fails, and she drags him back to her house while lightly shaming him for his decision. Mrs. Jones gets Roger to wash his face and starts making him dinner.
Climax
Mrs. Jones goes to another side of the room to start preparing the food, leaving her purse and the door open for Roger to steal / run for it. Roger is conflicted by this, but does neither and instead sits down where she can see him.
