The technological process - Coggle Diagram
The technological process
Technology solve problems
to produce complex objects we rely on elements
technical drawing
information technology
scientific and technological knowledge
work techniques
materials and their properties
economic factors
Stages
The technological process need several stages
brainstormig and making a group decision
planning
working plans
show the objects and its views.
process sheet
show the development of the project through a series of questions and issues about working procedures.
calculations and quotation
By calculating the quantity of each material that we shall use
individual analysis and solution for the problem
Look for examples and similar situation
construction
We begin with the support pieces, or the more complex pieces to which we can join the other pieces more easily.
needs
verification and evaluation
We must evaluate the impact of our project on the economy, society and environment.
Essentials tools
physical
It is very important to use all these tools correctly and carefully.
to nail, to screw.
to join, to fasten.
to cut, to saw, to perforate.
to measure, to draw, to mark.
IT
at various stages of the project.
presentation programs
present the concept of a project.
database programs
organise and manae large quantities of data.
computer graphics programs and tools
allow us to make simple drawings or detailed plans.
word processors and spreadsheets
to prepare text documents.
Organisation and management of the workshop
A specia type of classroom where we can put technology into practice.
documentation
an area of the workshop where we keep different types of documents related to projects.
general books, papers and documents.
books relating to specific topics.
specialist magazines.
work groups
each student has a specific role and mut assume a responsability.
coordinator.
secretary.
in charge of something.
workspace
is the place where students work on different tasks.
materials
keep them in small storerooms.
tools
using colour codes, and we can keep them in numbered toolboxes.
projects
keep them on shelves, organised by class and with a numer for each group.
The company, the market and the environment
advertising and consumption
consumers often buy products that they do not need, or will pay inflated prices for them.
a constant demand and usually a stable price for normal or necessary goods.
they sell at a higher price than their manufacturing cost to make a profit.
business activities
develop products, manufacture them and sell them to the consumer.
impact of the environment
industrial activities have caused some serious environmental problems.
exhausting
of natural resources and raw materials.
social inequalities
between countries and regions.
pollution
the impact of substances and human activities that are damaging to live.
Analysis of technical objects
we need to ask ourselves certain questions, the answers to these questions give us useful information about the object.
technical analysis
look for similarities between existing objects and newly developed ideas for our projects.
socioeconomic analysis
study the object in relation to its social use and its effect on the economy and evironment.
analysis of form
focuses on the physical form of the object, wue need to look at plans.
analysis of function
in relation to :
how it work.
the instructions for use.
the risks are there to people when they use it.
how should we look after and maintain it.
the uses.
what other obects work in a similar way.
Safety in the workshop
tools, implements and machines that are potentially dangerous if we do not use them correctly.
health and safety regulations
do not wear things or loose clothing that could get caught in a machine or tool.
before using a tool, make sure its in a good working area.
always use appropiate protective clothing.
study the organisation and layout of the workshop.
ask your teacher if you have any questions.
respect the signs.
hygiene
if you hurt yourself, immediately tell your teacher.
keep your workbench clean and weel organised.
your hands must be clean and dry.

safety at work
observe regulations in order to avoid accidents while we are working, and to prevent illnesses
specific legislation is often quite varied, as is the nature and level of risk of different jobs.
