Horrible and merciless. Can be very aggressive and violent for example the farmers when he brutally murdered them, even though they were innocent
Power hungry and always wants to assert authority and dominance. Demands order and for people to obey
Highest authority and does not get questioned, so becomes more arrogant and merciless as this fuels his aggression and power
Strict with everything, for example on time, what you wear etc.

The underworlds king's daughter so a princess who is connected to the underworld but is also partly human
Curious and understood, Often leads to her getting into trouble so too curious for her own good

Attempts to get Ofeilia, the King's daughter back into the underworld but she is too human so he sets her quests to be able to go back to the underworld properly.

Mercedes

Takes Ofelia's side and helps her out. She is motherly towards Ofelias which is crucial as her actual mother is unable to in her weak state

Carmen
Ill and weak due to pregnancy so is unable to fulfil motherly purposes as she is too weak so is often taken care of by her daughter Ofelia
Wife of Captain Vidal but seems they have no actual relationship and the Captain is only in it to have a son to bear his fathers name
Mother of Ofelia. Tends to shut her down when it comes to fairytales or getting in trouble but deeply loves her
Pale man
Representation of greed that there is too much in the world. Representation through banquet of food and tests if you take any food even if you don't need it
Is scary and typical child horror or nightmare. Has a scary appearance and has scary images on the walls of him killing children
The male, pale, stale man
