Pyramids of Numbers: Shows the number of organisms at each trophic level. 
Pyramids of Biomass: Shows the total dry mass of organisms at each level.
Pyramids of Energy: also known as productivity pyramid, shows the rate of energy flow (or biomass generation) at each level. This pyramid is never inverted.
Purpose: They model feeding relationships and illustrate the decrease in energy/biomass at higher trophic levels.
