Impact of my project on me
ATL Skills
I developed ATL skills which I was able to use outside of personal project. They helped me in school, especially in projects, planning, and organising.
I used ATL Skills which I never knew about before Personal Project.
IB Learner Profiles
Inquirer
I researched recipes from different countries, exploring new techniques, meals, and food traditions.
I asked important and meaningful questions such as "what makes this dish significant to this culture?"
I was able to extend my knowledge in cooking, and deepen my interest.
Communicator
I had to write clear and easy to follow recipes for beginners .
My entire product relied on communication, such as all of the photos, text, instructions, and design.
Open-Minded
I now understand and embrace other cultures to a greater extent
I also celebrated my own cultures and experiences
Improvements
I wasn't able to use risk-takers skills, and I could also have used other skills better, especially time management.
Despite adding more than the planned "5" recipes into my cookbook, I felt as though I could have made even more recipes to improve my cookbook.
Interest in Cooking
I really enjoyed doing the Personal Project because I chose a topic I loved. I didn't find it as a burden or extra work.
At the beginning of the personal project, I was determined to learn more about my connection with the love of cooking.
I was able to deepen my interest and love for cooking, and I really enjoyed the experience of making my own cookbook.
