Emotional Needs

Communicate affection: Offer physical affection like hugs and cuddles, along with verbal affirmations like "I love you," to help them feel loved and secure.

Autonomy and control: As children grow, they need opportunities to make their own choices and have some control over their lives.
Listen without judgment: Create a safe space for them to talk by actively listening to their feelings and needs without interruption or criticism.
Safety and security: Children need a secure and stable environment, both physically and emotionally. This includes safe boundaries and protection from violence and abuse.
Offer reassurance: Remind them that they are not alone, that help is available, and that things can get better.
Stay calm and patient: Maintain a calm and patient demeanor, as this can help the person feel more secure.
Love and connection: Unconditional love, affection, and attention from family and caregivers are crucial. This includes a secure attachment and a sense of belonging.
