Step 1: Undergraduate degree

Meet the University entry requirements
to apply for your undergraduate degree.
Complete a Bcom Accounting, BAcc, BAccSc or equivalent
degree at a SAICA-accredited university.
(3 - 4 years)
Step 2: Complete your Postgraduate Qualification

Enroll for a
SAICA-accredited postgraduate course.
For example, Postgraduate diploma in Accounting (
PGDA) or an equivalent honours
degree.
(1 year)
Step 3: Enter a training contract

Enroll in a 3 year training contract at a SAICA-accredited training office to gain necessary experience.
Step 4: Complete your qualifying exams

During your training contract you must write and pass the
Initial Test of Competence (ITC)
exam.
In the second year of training you must write and pass the
Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
Complete the remaining time of your training contract.
Step 5: Register :confetti_ball: with SAICA to become a CA(SA)
