Adam and Eve
Serpent
In the Garden of Eden, the serpent tempted Eve to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, leading to the Fall of Man.

Expulsion
The event when Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden as punishment for disobeying God's command not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge.
The first human created by God. According to the Bible, Adam is the father of humanity.
Jewish Sects
Pharisees
A Jewish religious group during the Second Temple period, who emphasized the oral law and traditions alongside the written Torah. They are considered the predecessors of modern Rabbinic Judaism.
Sadducees
A Jewish sect that was active during the Second Temple period, consisting mainly of priests and aristocrats. They rejected the oral law and focused only on the written Torah.
Essenes
A Jewish sect that lived in isolation and is best known for their association with the Dead Sea Scrolls. They followed strict religious practices and awaited the coming of the Messiah.
Zealots
A group of Jewish revolutionaries who opposed Roman rule and sought to overthrow it through armed resistance.

A set of ethical guidelines given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai, which form the foundation of Jewish law and moral conduct.

The total number of commandments (mitzvot) in the Torah, which govern various aspects of Jewish life, from religious observances to ethical behavior.

Jewish Denominations
Orthodox
A branch of Judaism that strictly adheres to traditional Jewish laws and customs, following both the written and oral Torah.
Conservative
A branch of Judaism that seeks to preserve Jewish tradition while allowing for some modernization in practice and interpretation.
Reform
A liberal branch of Judaism that emphasizes individual autonomy in interpreting Jewish law and customs, and adapts traditions to fit modern life.
Noah
A righteous man chosen by God to survive a great flood that God sent to cleanse the Earth of corruption. Noah and his family built an ark to survive the flood
Abram
The patriarch of the Jewish people, with whom God made a covenant promising that his descendants would become a great nation.
sarah
Abraham's wife, who bore him a son, Isaac, at an old age. Sarah was initially barren, but God's promise to Abraham was fulfilled through her.
Isaac
The son of Abraham and Sarah, through whom God's covenant with Abraham was continued.
Hagar
Sarah's maidservant, who bore Abraham’s son Ishmael when Sarah was unable to have children.
Ishmael
The son of Abraham and Hagar. He is considered a prophet in Islam and is important in Jewish and Islamic traditions
Messiah
A future Jewish king from the Davidic line, expected to be anointed by God to bring peace, rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, and restore the Jewish kingdom.
Prophetic Traditions
the prophets in ancient Israel who conveyed God's will to the people, including figures like Moses, Samuel, and Isaiah
