L08 - Motors - Coggle Diagram

- - - - No brushes, less maintenance providing easier control and lifespan is longer
      - Stator: electromagnet coil winding
      - Rotor: permanent magnet
  - - - Brushes motor requires commutator to allow flow of current to the armature, where commutator itself reverses its current in the rotor making the control more difficult
      - Stator (stationary part): creates the magnetic field
        
        Rotor: produces motion which then spins by interacting to the magnetic field
        
        Commutator: reverses the flow of current in rotor
        
        Armature: electromagnet coil
        
        Shaft: mechanical power to do work by transferring to the motor
