types on network communication
LAN
LAN stands for Local Area Network, which is a computer network that connects devices within a limited area like a home, office, or campus. LANs allow users to share resources, such as printers and files, and use technologies like Ethernet cables or Wi-Fi to communicate.
Examples:
Home networks: Connecting computers, smartphones, smart TVs, and other devices to a single internet connection.
Offices: Allowing employees to share files and access a common network printer.
Schools: Connecting computer labs and classrooms, and enabling teachers to share digital resources with students.
PAN
"Pancomputer" most likely refers to a Personal Area Network (PAN), a small network that connects devices like a smartphone, laptop, and wireless accessories over a short range, typically up to 10 meters.
Wireless PAN examples
Bluetooth earpiece and smartphone: A common PAN that allows hands-free calls and audio playback.
Wireless mouse and keyboard: Connecting a laptop or desktop to a wireless mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth or a USB dongle.
Smartwatch or fitness tracker and smartphone: A wearable device sending data like health metrics and notifications to a smartphone.
Wireless headphones and a tablet: Using Bluetooth to connect headphones to a tablet for watching videos or listening to music.
Smartphone and smart home devices: Connecting a phone to a smart speaker or smart lights within a short range.
Wired PAN examples
USB connection: Linking a computer to a printer, external hard drive, or other peripherals using a USB cable.
FireWire connection: Connecting a computer to devices like cameras or external drives using a FireWire port (less common now).
MAN

WAN
A WAN, or Wide Area Network, is a telecommunications network that connects multiple Local Area Networks (LANs) over large geographical distances, like across a country or the world. It allows for the sharing of data and communication between devices in different locations, with the Internet being the largest example of a WAN.
Examples
The Internet is the most well-known example of a global WAN.
An organization with offices in multiple countries would use a WAN to connect them all.
