SMART GOALS
M = Measurable. Have criteria to measure progress / success. e.g., Increase turnover by 20%.
-
S = Specific. Defines exactly what you want to achieve. Includes who, what, where, why.

WATERFALL VS AGILE
Linear, sequential phases (e.g., requirements → design → implementation → testing → deployment). Each phase must finish before the next begins; limited iteration. Pros: clarity, structure, easier to control in predictable environments. Cons: inflexible to change, customer feedback often happens late.
-
Iterative, incremental approach; frequent feedback, adaptation. Suited for uncertain, evolving projects or where requirements may change. Pros: responsive to change, earlier delivery of value, more stakeholder involvement. Cons: may have less predictability of final scope/time; dependencies can be harder to visualise.

PERT & GANTT CHART
-
A network diagram showing tasks, dependencies, time estimates. Useful for estimating duration and visualising dependencies. Especially helpful in early planning of complex projects.
-
Bar‑chart representation: tasks vs timeline, start & end dates. Shows progress, gives stakeholders a clear visual.
-
CRITICAL PATH ANALYSIS
Definition: The sequence of tasks that determines the minimum total project duration. If any task on the critical path is delayed, the whole project may be delayed.
Steps: Identify tasks & dependencies, estimate durations, construct network diagram → find longest path (critical path), Identify slack / non‑critical tasks.
Benefit: Focuses attention on tasks that matter most for completion date, Helps resource allocation, risk management
