(Deepwoken World Map (Conceptual Overview), The world of Deepwoken is…
-
The world of Deepwoken is divided into two primary, distinct realms: The Luminant (the "overworld") and The Depths (the "underworld").
- The Luminant (The Overworld)
The Luminant is the "surface" world where you sail, explore islands, and progress your character. It is divided into separate, large seas.
-
This is the sea where all new players begin their journey. It's a large, open ocean dotted with islands.
-
Isle of Vigils: The second main starting island, home to trainers for the Vow of Mastery.
Lower Erisia: A key early-game island for progression, home to bandits and the Erisia-Etrea War.
Minityrsa: A remote island known for hosting the Trial of One, an optional, difficult challenge that allows new characters to start at a higher level.
The Void Sea: The vast, dangerous ocean separating the islands. Be wary of storms and massive sea creatures like Megalodaunts.
-
A separate, higher-level sea that players can travel to from the Etrean Luminant. It features more dangerous and complex locations.text
Miner's Landing: A central hub city with many high-level trainers, merchants, and faction representatives.
Songseeker Wilds: A large, treacherous jungle island inhabited by the Songseekers and dangerous wildlife.
Greathive Aratel: A massive, vertical hive city populated by the Aratellids.
Starswept Valley: A unique, celestial-themed area with powerful enemies and unique loot.
-
- The Depths (The Underworld)
The Depths is a dark, punishing realm where you are sent after your first "death" in The Luminant.
Core Mechanic: When you are sent to The Depths, you must find a way to escape (usually via a geyser or rift) to return to The Luminant. If you "die" a second time while inside The Depths, your character is permanently deleted.
Hostile Environment: The Depths is a high-risk PvP zone, filled with terrifying monsters (like Sharkos, Barnacles, and Megatrons) and other desperate players.
The Layers: The Depths is not one place but a series of descending "layers," each more dangerous than the last.
Layer 1 (The Flooded Depths): The first and most common layer. A dark, watery maze of caverns and ruins.
Layer 2 (Scyphozia / The Eternal Gale): A much more dangerous and complex layer that high-level players can access, featuring unique bosses and challenges.
Higher Layers: Even more terrifying and abstract realms exist for the most powerful and courageous players to explore.
