Human rights
Strengths + Weaknesses
Strengths:
The UK is subject to the ECHR, we have support from wider Europe. There is strong common law tradition in the UK, Magna Carta for example. The judiciary has a reputation for being independent and upholding the rule of law.
Weaknesses:
Common law can be vague and disputed. UK parliament remains sovereign and so could ignore the ECHR. What equality means can be subject to interpretation.
