Urea: less toxic, requires less water
Uric Acid: Nontoxic, requires very little water, metabolically expensive to produce Common in Birds, reptiles
Hormonal regulatiom
Antidiuretic Hormone : increase water reabsorption, making them more permeable to water, reduces urine volume
Renin- Angiotensin- Aldosterone system: Responds to low blood pressure or volume. Stimulates aldostrone release increasing Na+ and water reabsorption.
