Increased the time it takes for trade to happen (e,g, it used to take 2 months cross the Atlantic now it takes 5 hours by plane)
Technological advancements that arrive in newer markets (domestic VS foreign markets)
Contemporary consumption (increased worldwide economic output, allowed a large amount of people to emerge from poverty)
Not good for families and the environment (end of the human species?)
Worldwide migration due to cheap air travel, it's inexpensive to stay in touch with relatives and economic opportunities are better in developed countries
Increased life expectancy
What possibilities has increased global interactions created for people in different places
Changed the psychology espically of those of upper class living in an industrialized world
Celebration of individualism
Gave women a choice for different sexual partners plus the option of divorce
Land cultivation and resource extraction in developing coutnries
How does globalization connect places in the world ?
Economic interdependence (contemporary global trade)
Multinational corporations have global reach and increasing power 2. Travel and shipping are cheap and safe 3. Governments have decreased tariffs and regulations on international trade
Cultural blending (access to other cultures, culinary cultural fusion, translated fiction etc)
3 Examples of global spacial interactions
Increased divorce rates, as more women suggest them
Buying flowers for loved ones VS Harvesting them themselves = lost the idea of flowers as an genuine apology/gift
Increased population density, from countryside to city (acceleration)
Who is more or less powerful in a globalised world?
More powerful: Upperclass, education in women, china/countries that have experienced increase in trade
Less powerful: Familial members who want love and connection, under developed countries
