Organize your talking points
Include: First slide, next slide, subsequent slide, final slide, credit slide with acknowledgements
First slide
includes overview of talk
Next Slide
Introduction/background and purpose of study
Finals slide
Conclusions and main supporting points
identify the purpose and take-home message of the story
This should be presented after introductory slide and be sure to pick out the most important information for your slide. it should be the core of the slide
Overview slide
For longer presentations prepare an overview slide that lays out the different parts of that will be covered in the slide
Prepare talks and visual aids ahead of time by knowing what prorgams are available such as microsft powerpoint, apple key note, google slides and others.
prepare notes in large prints and for each slide
Practicing is essential to preparing to present
Effective slides
Design effective slides by looking graphically, creating attractive slides while keeping them simple, paying attenton to color design, and font
limit the amount of text and do not make your presentational slide too wordy
keep organized and not cluttered with tables and figures
Face to Face Talk
Arrive on time and dress appropriately
use spoken English and stay within the time limit
Avoid distracting sounds, keep eye contact and face the audience, gestures can also be helpful in getting ones point across
Remote presentations
Can be given on google slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple keynote, and more
Make sure you are in a well-lit area and the camera is at face level
Make sure your background is professional and simple as possible, ensure there is good sound quality,
test technology and prepare space
During presentation
Place active speaker window on screen and engage your audience,
remember that you are on camera during your presentation as not to mess up and stick to your time
