• Education is the action or process of acquiring information and development of physical, intellectual and moral facilities.
• The result of education is an expected change in the behaviour of the learners in expected period of time .
2•Teaching
• Definition :
Teaching is an interaction between teacher and students under the teacher's responsibility in order to bring about expected changes in the student's behaviour.
• Qualities of Good Teaching :
1• Good teaching recognize individual differences.
2• Good teaching provides opportunities for creative activities.
3• Good teaching involves skillfullness in guiding and motivating learning.
4• Good teaching is kindly and sympathetic.
5• Good teaching reduces the distance between the teacher and the students .

•Definition of learning :
Is a process resulting in some modification, relatively permanent, in the way of thinking, feeling, and doing of the learner.
•How an individual learns:
Learners takes place during three consepts :

2• perception.
3• conceptualization.
4•Differences between learning and teaching:
• Learning :
• Is receiving that knowledge and encoding it into one's memory.
• Is the desired change in the behaviour of the individual resulting from passing a certain experience.
• Teaching :
• Is giving information, or transferring knowledge from teacher to learners.
• Is helping theindividual to learn.
5•Characteristics of learning :
1• A continous process.
2• Unique and individual.
3• Controlled by the learner .
4• Affected by the total state of the learner.
5• Not directly observable.
6• Leading to a relatively permanent change of behavior.
7• Resulting from practice, repetition and experience.
6•Characteristics of Adult Learners :
1• Adults are autonomous and self-directed.
2• Adults have accumulated life experience and knowledge.
3• Adults are goal oriented.
4• Adults are practical.
5• Adults require respect.
6• Adults are problem ( need ) centered rather than subject centered.
7• Adults need to receive feedback on how they are doing and the results of their efforts.
8• Adults need to participate in small-group activities during their learning.
