What is safeguarding?
- All dental staff have a legal & professional duty to safeguard pts.
- This means being alert, documenting concerns clearly and reporting concerns to the safeguarding lead / external agencies.
Involves recognising signs of abuse and neglect, and taking appropriate action to prevent further harm.
Safeguarding = protecting vulnerable children and adults from abuse, neglect, harm and exploitation.
