Smart Waste Management and Recycling Monitoring System for Urban Barangays…
Smart Waste Management and Recycling Monitoring System for Urban Barangays.
Introduction
Background of the Study
Rapid urbanization in large cities such as Manila and Cebu has intensified waste generation. Barangays often face challenges in waste segregation, efficiency. and recycling participation
Problem Statement
Manual waste collection schedules, lack of data monitoring, and poor citizen engagement lead to unsanitary conditions hence urban pollution
Proposed Solution
Develop a web or mobile system. showing waste alerts, and add rewards that benefits users for recycling or participation
Target Users
Barangay officials
Waste collectors
Local residents
LGU administrators
Objectives
Design a system for tracking waste bin levels in real time.
Create a web dashboard for LGUs to monitor collection data and recycling statistics.
Provide a mobile app for residents to report uncollected garbage and learn proper segregation.
Generate analytical reports for waste volume and recycling rate.
Significance of the Study
Citezens
Encourages proper segregation, reduce uncollected waste, and promoting recycling awareness.
Local Government Units
Improves collection route efficiency, reduces operational costs, and strengthens data-driven waste management.
Environment
Mitigates pollution and sustainable urban environments
