Respiratory 1
Airways
-
Bronchi (primary, seconday, tertiary)
-
Mucosa, respiratory epithelium, basement membrane
Submucosa: Glands, smooth muscle
-
-
Respiratory epithelium: pseudostratified ciliated columnar cells, cilia faces air, in between epithelial and mucosa
-
-
Pseudostratified epithelium becomes simple epithelium, loss of goblet cells, cartilage rings are absent
-
Smooth muscle peaks in bronchioles, incomplete in bronchi
Lung segments: right superior, right middle, right inferior
-
Air modification
Nostrils (nares, nasal vestibule, nasal cavity)
Nasal conchae, projections of spongy bone with respiratory mucosa and high vascular, humidifcation and temperature of air
-
Larynx: voice boc, cartilage, muscle, nerve
Epoglottis, flow of air and food
-
-
-
Respiratory lobule
Respiratory bronchioles, alveolar ducts, alveolar sacs, alveoli
Simple squamous, smooth muscle, elastic fibers, reticular fibers
Vascularization: pulmonary arteriole blood from heart, pulmonary venule back to heart

Pressure
Oxygen travels down pressure gradient to blood vessel are both 104mmHg, blood goes to heart and pressure drop to 95mmHg
Oxygen moves down pressure gradient into interstitial fluid until IF and blood are equal (cells have taken all the oxygen), blood becomes deoxygenated and travels back to heart
CO2 levels always highest inisde of cell, CO2 pushed down pressure gradient into IF
Moves down pressure gradient into blood until blood and IF are equal, CO2 then offloaded in the lungs
