Main Goal

Make artwork that mixes typography and illustration.
Show that i understand design theory, history, and creativity.
Follow a client brief — “Museum of South East Queensland.”
Design three outdoor banners for an exhibition about a famous designer.
Your work must reflect that designer’s style and design period.
Design
Banner 1 & 3:

Add the Museum logo.
The drawing can be hand-made or digital, but it must look bold and match your chosen designer’s style.
Use original illustrations only (no photos).
No text (copy).
Size: 250 mm × 400 mm (portrait, 3 mm bleed).
Banner 2
.
Same size.
Add text that says:
“Museum of South East Queensland presents [your exhibition name]”
Include exhibition dates (6 May – 1 July 2023).
Use illustration elements from banners 1 or 3 or make a typographic design.
Add the Museum logo again.
Project Objectives

Research typography and illustration (history + theory).
Apply what you learn in your own designs.
Follow all typography rules (readability, spacing, hierarchy).
Use the elements and principles of design correctly (contrast, balance, colour, etc.).
Show creativity and clear message.
Reflect your chosen designer’s visual style.
Produce and submit all final files correctly.
Target Audience

All ages (adults + kids).
The exhibition includes activities for children.
Design lovers, artists, and students who visit the museum.
Teachers/assessors who will grade your work.
Schedule

Research typography and illustration history.
Ask questions to my teacher/client if something is unclear.
Collect visual inspiration and make a mood board.
Brainstorm ideas and draw at least 10 thumbnails.
Get feedback from classmates and teacher.
Choose my 2 best ideas and make digital drafts.
Experiment with fonts, colours, and layout.
Show my designs again and get more feedback.
Choose 1 final concept, refine it, and export final files.
Write my rationale (explaining your choices).
Submit everything in Week 13 through Connect.

Technical Specs

Print banners: CMYK colour mode, 300 PPI resolution.
Digital work: RGB colour mode, 72 PPI.
Size: 250 mm × 400 mm + 3 mm bleed.
Include: Museum logo + exhibition title + dates (for Banner 2).
File name example: JasonNziza_WordsAsArt_Banner1_v1.pdf.
